“Heartstrings” is the title track off Meester’s debut album, out next month. We already knew this girl could sing, thanks to a performance in Country Strong and her casual jam sessions alike, but this soulful anthem really proves it. Anyone else getting Joni Mitchell vibes here?
The Look: Rosie Assoulin Spring ’15
I’m all for ridiculously eyepopping outfits on the runway, but in real life? Minimalism is key. Luckily this philosophy doesn’t have to be synonymous with “boring,” especially when it comes to Rosie Assoulin. This season the designer gave her gorgeous twist on ladylike staples like floorlength skirts and fancy trousers, taking real care in making the silhouette as cool (read: interesting) as possible. My favorite? This crazy-sexy-cool combo of a crop top and awesome draped pants. Better start next summer’s ab routine, like...now.
The Face: 3.1 Philip Lim’s ’15 Beauty Look
I’ll spare you the whole “heaven must be missing an angel” pickup line thing, but trust me when I say that the beauty look from 3.1 Phillip Lim’s runway show was downright HEAVENLY. Thanks to Nars’ makeup magic (which included seriously dewy skin and highlighted cheekbones), it complemented the collection’s ethereal pieces perfectly.
The Inspiration: Milk Studios’ Fashion Week Gifs on Tumblr
Because sometimes you just need a reminder that underneath the layers of silk, chiffon, and leather, fashion is supposed to be fun.
The Song: “Put Your Number In My Phone” by Ariel Pink
The track is the first off his forthcoming new album Pom Pom, and we’ve been obsessed ever since the rocker dropped it upon the internet yesterday. If you haven’t heard it, listen immediately below. And if you have? Keep pressing play, because it only gets better with time.
