it’s her party

Today, singer-songwriter Lesley Gore passed away from cancer at the age of 68. After being discovered by Quincy Jones as a teenager, she was signed to Mercury Records, where she produced "It's My Party." Her music, especially "You Don't Own Me," brought feminist ideals to dance parties across the country. Gore was also a fervent LGBTQ activist.

To celebrate her life, we'll be blasting "You Don't Own Me" and singing in the mirror. Because that's what Gore would have wanted.
