style showdown: sparkle phase

shine in the daytime.

Tell us you found a sparkly dress that is more prim than party girl and we probably won't believe you. We love a glittery outfit as much as most do, but glitz is usually reserved for nighttime in the form of a short minidress or something fit for the final dance sequence of Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. Amanda Seyfried and Lily Collins set us straight and prove that sequins and lurex can be perfectly proper with their shiny daytime ensembles.

At a London premiere of Lovelace, Seyfried rocked a semi-sheer blue Gucci dress with Givenchy heels and a center-parted, loose ponytail. The silhouette is pretty reserved, but the reflective blue dots and sheer skirt amp up the cool factor. Meanwhile in California, Collins attended an event for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones in a similarly sparkly look. The actress chose a Bed and Bridge top and skirt that she paired with Christian Louboutin pointed pumps.

We're pretty obsessed with both actresses' outfits because wearing sparkles in the daytime is sort of being a vampire who can walk in the sun (AKA pretty awesome). If you could only pick one girl's look to steal, tough, would it be Seyfriend's blue number or Collins' cool combo? Decisions, decisions….
