LOOKBOOK: SHAKUHACHI

because beach bums can be sexpots, too….

by liza darwin

There's no question that Sydney-based Shakuhachi has already perfected its bohemian pretty trademark in collections past. But for Fall, the label's surfer girl muse is growing up and going out.

Lookbook: Go beachy keen with Shakuhachi summer.

Designer Jessie White and co. have upped the glam this season, taking cues from the runway with allover floral dresses and suits, rainbow sherbert-colored separates, and punchy metallic brogues. Cutout backs give tuxedo jackets a sexy kick, bustier dresses show off this confidently pretty vibe, and even sporty staples like sweatshirts and track pants suddenly look stylish. She might not be opposed to sneaking out of the house and meeting up with friends- but she just wants to make sure she looks good while doing so.

In other words, the Shakuhachi girl has officially come into her own. Just don't tell mom and dad...

Look for Shakuhachi Fall soon. Until then, see the current collection here.
