It's impossible to pinpoint a defining trend that emerged from New York, London, Milan, and Paris fashion weeks, and that's part of the fun of it all. But still, one thing's for sure: amidst all of the fast food fashion, bright colors, and gothic realness, one style statement rang through loud and clear...mostly because we couldn't help but read it with our very own eyes.
We're talking about the message clothing that paraded down the runways at all four cities, from Wildfox kicking off NYFW with "Mr. Darcy" tees to Moschino's "fur real" shawls in Milan, to Yang-Li's "Dreamer" tops in Paris.
So what's the story? You can chalk the trend up to Alexander Wang's "Parental Advisory" shirts from last season, a worldwide compulsion to overshare on social media, or even a remnant of the logo obsession from several years ago, but this is wordplay like we haven't seen it before.
