Watch Michelle Obama Slay Beyoncé on “Carpool Karaoke”

There’s only one FLOTUS

As the circus that is the Republican National Convention rages on, James Corden just reminded us how much we're going to miss the Obamas. In the latest installment of "Carpool Karaoke," Corden was joined by none other than Michelle Obama for a candid chat and some major rocking out. “I’ve been in a car—it was months ago—with my daughter who learned to drive,” she said, as the pair circled the White House grounds. “And that was the only time in seven and a half years that I’ve been in the passenger seat listening to music, rocking out like this.”

In between revealing her Secret Service codename and discussing her Let Girls Learn initiative, the duo absolutely slayed some of Obama's favorite tracks, including Beyoncé’s "Single Ladies" and Stevie Wonders “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours.” They even broke into "This is For My Girls," a Let Girls Learn benefit song that originally features Kelly Clarkson, Janelle Monáe, and Missy Elliott, who made a surprise backseat appearance to deliver her verse in person. Naturally, they broke out into Elliott's "Get Ur Freak On," with Obama more than holding her own.

Of course, the segment was filmed weeks ago, which means Obama didn't address the plagiarism scandal that has engulfed the country after Melania Trump was accused of lifting lines from FLOTUS' 2008 Democratic Convention speech. She didn't have to. Last night proved once and for all that when it comes to First Ladies, both past and future, Michelle Obama is in a league of her own. Watch above.
