What Really Happened At NYLON’s Midnight Garden Party
So. Many. Celebrities.
How often do you see Nicole Richie, her sister Sofia, DNCE, Rita Ora, Amber Rose all under the same roof? Not too often—and definitely not often enough. Once a year, though, pretty much every famous human on the planet descends upon Southern California's desert for a weekend of music, dancing, street style, and parties. And that's when the magic happens.
In this case, it happened when we threw our third annual Midnight Garden Party in Bermuda Dunes this weekend, where Taco and Virgil Abloh delivered the beats and Johnnie Walker served up specialty Johnnie & Soda cocktails, VIP bottle service, and an exclusive 21+ Johnnie & Soda Lounge. We customized a fleet of Skedaddle buses to take guests to our secret estate where many were greeted by the sounds of Johnny Wujek's and Markus Molinari's DJ skills. Coolhaus was on-site serving ice cream sandwiches, Red Bull gave the party wings, and Batiste Dry Shampoo teamed up with beGlammed to refresh guests' festival styles. Heineken got in on the game, too, serving up cold ones at their dedicated bar. Atomic Blonde, Charlize Theron's new movie, delivered a video/GIF booth complete with neon sign for guests looking to live their action star fantasies. Ana Calderon brought the party home with her addictive DJ set. Guests walked out with bags filled with Batiste Dry Shampoo, GUESS 1981 fragrance, and Flower Children Only flower crowns, all things needed to take on the festival the next day. As the party continued into the wee hours of the morning, Papa John's delivered hundreds of pizzas. Who can argue with an impromptu pizza party? No one. Talk about a Midnight Garden Party done right.
