Before Miley Cyrus was Miley Cyrus, she was a girl named Destiny Hope dreaming of becoming a superstar. Some time passed. She changed her name. Then, she auditioned for a little Disney show called Hannah Montana, and got the best of both worlds: She became a TV star at the age of 13.
Cyrus actually auditioned when she was 12, though. Her tape has, once again, appeared on the Internet. It documents the three rounds she had to go through before ultimately landing the lead role we’ve all come to know and (maybe?) love. It is a portrait of innocence filled with youth and vitality. Since then, Cyrus has twerked her way free of her Disney role to become both a provocateur and a social justice warrior. Girl cannot and will not be tamed.
