get miu miu’ed
our editors recreate the spring ’14 campaign hair.
There's a lot to love in
, from its stars (Elizabeth Olsen,
,
, and Bella Heathcote), to the clothes (rainbow dresses and lace-up boots), to the colorful dollhouse sets. The thing we love most, though, might be the hair.
We loved it so much that we called our friends at
Downtown salon the day we first saw Elle Fanning's flipped ponytail and asked to make appointments for our editors to recreate each starlet's 'do (with the exception of Lupita Nyong'o's, mostly because we couldn't find anyone who was willing to go pixie!).
Two weeks later and here we are, rocking our Elizabeth, Elle, and Bella styles. So if you're dying to be a Miu Miu muse, you're going to need to get the how-to lowdown from stylist Mischa G. in the slideshow.

The Miu Miu Inspiration: Elle Fanning's high curled ponytail
Spritz BB Prep spray all over hair, then blow dry. Flip hair over to one side.
Secure a high ponytail to the top of one side. Twist a piece of hair from the ponytail around to hide the elastic. Pro tip: Bungee elastics work better than regular elastics because you don't have to pull the ponytail through.
Using a curling iron, wrap the pieces to create loose texture.

The inspiration: Elizabeth Olsen's straight middle part

Blowdry hair straight, using a medium-sized Mason Pearson brush.
Working in sections, run a flatiron throughout the hair until it's stick-straight.
After hair is dry, finish by creating a center part. Add extra hold and shine with BB Semisumo creme.
The final product.
The Inspiration: Bella Heathcote's dramatic straight bangs
