Ashwagandha

Why it's great: This is the most researched adaptogenic herb. One of its main benefits is that it can help your body better deal with stress. It's also said to help lower cortisol levels and reduce anxiety.

Turmeric

Why it's great: A compound in turmeric called curcumin has been linked to improved mood, according to a recent UCLA study. Pair it with black pepper for best results. Black pepper increases turmeric's bioavailability (which means your body is able to absorb more of it). Turmeric is also a potent anti-inflammatory.

Why it's great: CBD, a non-psychoactive compound found in hemp, boasts some serious mood-boosting properties. It's been shown to help reduce anxiety, and can help regulate your mood. Read more about the benefits of CBD here.
