Most Wanted: Orseund Iris Corset

It’s a cinch!

by Marissa Smith and Austen Tosone

We are only a few days away from the kickoff of New York Fashion Week. Those who are avid fashion week followers may recall that last season, designers like Sally Lapointe showed looks featuring corsets that quickly took over the internet. If you’re searching to get the look for less, Orseund Iris has you covered.

Orseund Iris is a brand we’ve followed for a while, and is the maker of a corset you’ll be wanting in your closet this season. The New York-based brand, created by Alana Johnson, is a star at taking classic, must-have pieces and giving them a modern edge, like their moto jacket done in a satin fabric.

This corset is the modern update to the 16th century fashion invention. Instead of fabric stiffened with paste or starch, a knit rayon fabric takes its place. In addition, it does the body shaping work of a corset without the meticulous lace-up process by placing double hook and eye closures in the back, bringing this old wardrobe essential into the 21st century.

The layering possibilities are endless: Picture it over a graphic tee or under a voluminous coat. If you need more inspiration, see how celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Hailey Baldwin have worked it!

Oresund Iris, Structured Corset, $230, available at Oresund Iris.
