MOVIE REVIEW: MEGAMIND
my, what a big head you have!
In terms of backwards superheroes, Will Farrell’s Megamind ranks right up there: Misunderstood, brilliantly smart, and neon blue, the alien who fell to Earth just wants to be loved.Of course, that creates problems when Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill are vying for your screen time (and your superhero abilities), Tina Fey won’t date you, and the whole thing is playing out in animated 3-D.For those that loved The Incredibles, Megamind almost hits that level of amazing-ness - it’s a funny story with great performances, incredible cartoon art, and enough snide adult humor to make sure you never get bored. It’s also insanely quotable - to the point that my fellow movie-goers and I keep Facebooking each other with random private jokes from the film.Without giving too much away, you must go see this movie - just be warned, although most of it is incredibly fun, there’s one part that’s really, really scary, so bring extra Sno Caps to make you feel better...Megamind opens tomorrow across the country.
