A Wes Anderson-Inspired Airbnb Exists, And You’ll Want To Stay There
“Mr. Anderson’s Home” is in Ontario, Canada
Looking for a weekend getaway? How about a trip to the Moonrise Kingdom or the Grand Budapest Hotel? Thanks to the coolest Airbnb of all time, you can now visit all of filmmaker Wes Anderson’s magical, pastel worlds at once. Mr. Anderson’s House is located in Ontario, Canada, and each space in the two-bedroom abode is designed with a different film from the iconic director in mind. Even better, a night’s stay will only set you back about $200 and includes Wi-Fi, so you can Instagram your heart out (which is necessary considering the endless photo-ops built into this house).
The house is within walking distance to old-timey Picton Main Street Shops and a short drive to Sandbanks beaches, both of which provide even more Anderson-esque vibes. The house itself transports you to Anderson's worlds, with a Grand Budapest Hotel bathroom, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou living room, and Rushmore office space. The two guest bedrooms take their inhabitants to New Penzance and New York City and are made to emulate the worlds of Sam from Moonrise Kingdom and Margot from The Royal Tenenbaum respectively. Sam’s room houses lots of Boy Scouts memorabilia and, of course, a tent, while Margot’s room is a purple-hued wonderland decorated with loads of in-character curios and trinkets. What's more, you can find inspiration for how to pack your bags on the house’s own Instagram, which features the many guests embodying characters from the films.
Mr. Anderson's House can sleep four, so gather some fellow film buffs for the coolest fall getaway we can imagine. If you can’t make it to this magical place, be sure to check out the digs, below. We can’t wait for the house’s update in March with the release of Isle of Dogs—here’s hoping for Airbnb’s first fluffy host.
