The Coolest Beauty Looks From The Much Music Video Awards
Our favorites of the evening
Last night in Toronto, the iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards took place to honor the best in music. The awards ceremony was held outdoors and resembled a huge street party—a welcome relief from the conventional theater format—and included performances from the likes of Nick Jonas, Fifth Harmony, Tegan & Sara, and more.
In addition to a night of music, it was a night of many costume changes, with host Gigi Hadid rocking a total of six (amazing) looks. However, even more interesting were the beauty looks.
Hair with serious height, whether in the form of a braid, ponytail, or topknot, seemed to be the trend of the evening. However, our favorite beauty look of the night came in the form of the very special LGBT pride tribute made by July Talk’s Leah Fay and her dancers.
We rounded up the 11 coolest looks of the evening, from fishtail braids to undereye glitter. Click through the gallery below to check out our picks.
Tegan & Sara gave us some serious sibling envy with their twinning red lips and smokey eyes.
Lucy Hale killed it with dark, vampy lips and sleek hair.
Gigi Hadid’s first look of the evening featured a bright red lip, that perfectly matched her suit, and a braid for days.
Liz Trinnear channeled Old Hollywood glamour with platinum cascading waves.
Lilly Singh wins the award for the most interesting braid of the evening.
Leah Fay of July Talk brought our dream Tumblr-inspired beauty look to life with dripping undereye glitter.
Hailey Baldwin kept her makeup polished and simple to go along with her messy topknot and piecey bangs.
How do you make a high ponytail even better? Fishtail braid it à la Gigi Hadid.
Maripier Morin looked incredibly elegant with a slicked back middle part and vibrant red lip.
Leah Fay and her dancers definitely won best beauty look of the evening, donning matching pride-themed rainbows across their eyes.
Sofia Carson slayed with a slicked back high ponytail and bold, red lips.
