braid bags? don’t mind if we do.

Anything described as "gypsy caravan traveler" pretty much has my name written all over it. Case in point: The hair, makeup, and nail look backstage at Nanette Lepore.

The hair, crafted by the amazing James Pecis using beauty.com tools from Alterna Bamboo, T3, and Phyto Haircare, started by being prepped with Alterna Bamboo Volume 48 Hour Sustainable Volume Spray from roots to ends on dry hair. Then, section by section, the hair was sprayed with Alterna Bamboo Volume Uplifting Root Blast and then blow dried with T3's Featherweight Luxe 2i for extra oomph. Using the T3 BodyWaver Large Barrel Styling Iron, alternate curling sections of the hair (for a loose bend) and then take the front section of the hair and begin a braid at the forehead moving down on the right side of the face. For the second hair look, tie square knots into the hair and then use bobby pins to hold up the braids and finish by misting Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Working Hair Spray to hold everything in place.

The makeup, by Stila Cosmetics, was complimentary of the gypsy feel with fresh strawberry-bitten lips (Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Amore, Pomegranate Crush Lip & Cheek Stain), gray-lined eyes (Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Alloy), and full, fluttery lashes (Major Major Lash Mascara).

Michelle Saunders for Essie created a half dark pewter, half deep plum nail design to compliment the collection's pieces. First applying First Base base coat to clean nails, then, once dry, applying one coat of Chinchilly to three-quarters of the right side of the nail, then layered with one coat of Berry Naughty (over Chinchilly) to create the deep purple color. Next, apply Over The Edge nail color to the left side of the nail, covering the remainder of the nail, and finish with Good To Go top coat.
