Neil Patrick Harris Goes Full Creep Mode In The New ‘Lemony Snicket’s’ Teaser
Coming to Netflix this January
Count Olaf is coming to your living room. In the latest teaser for Netflix's upcoming Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, we get our first real glimpse at Neil Patrick Harris' take on the sinister count, who was memorably played by Jim Carrey in the 2004 big-screen adaptation of the beloved children books.
The casting of the lovable NPH in such a despicable role seemed odd at first, but after watching the clip below, we're fully convinced that the versatile performer has what it takes to pull it off. The series, which begins streaming on Netflix January 13, will peg the recently orphaned Baudelaire children versus their new legal guardian, who's after their family's immense fortune and who will stop at nothing—and we mean nothing—to get it.
Based on the elaborate set design revealed in the new teaser, Netflix has spared no expense in recreating the gothic charm of original material, which bodes well for die-hard Snicket fans (or Snicket Heads as we like to call them as of right this second). More good news: Acclaimed director Barry Sonnenfeld is directing, while professional narrator Patrick Warburton will provide the voice of Snicket himself. January 13 (yes, it's a Friday) can't come soon enough. Watch the teaser above.
