NYLON’s Collaboration With Orange By Bana Is Finally Here

Orange you glad we said Bana?

With two successful clothing lines under her belt, Bana Bongolan strikes again with a brand-new label. Orange By Bana is a collab-centric brand that conducts limited releases that we just can't wait to get our paws on. Under the OBB umbrella, the first, of many releases to come, is with none other than yours truly, NYLON

As a lifelong reader of NYLON, Bongolan feels that her path as a designer corresponds with what she's seen inside of our issues, so it seemed like a total no-brainer to link up. "It's funny how things came full circle for me because of the vision I had for myself; being a multifaceted designer and using art, music, and fashion," she says. "I believe this is what makes up the core of NYLON, so naturally this was the perfect partnership."

Bongolan was inspired by iconic American designs, such as the trucker cap and the NYLON logo. "Classic, bold, and everlasting are all qualities that align with the magazine, so that's why I chose this style of hat," she says. Along with that, she's inspired by travel, her experiences with friends, and the highs and lows of life, staying off the internet to get her creative fuel fired. "The only way to create genuine art is from yourself sometimes. A lot of people tend to forget that when they attempt to stay relevant. It's important to be in touch with you and your feelings."

Being an entrepreneur and an artist in 2017 is hard work, but Bongolan is living proof it pays off. So what's up next for her? "The NYLON launch event as a whole, to me, was like the gunshot for the brand—it was the bang that will start off this campaign to truly expand," she says, adding:

This is my revolution, and I really envision the Bana umbrella to grow into a full creative powerhouse. We've been working on projects for Diamond Supply Co., Real Tree Camo, and Post Malone's camp. I plan on bringing my street roots into pop culture and to completely shift the landscape by using streetwear and high fashion to tell two different stories, simultaneously.

The next collab of the series will be with NYLONshop favorite Petals and Peacocks. All we have to say is, we'll be there, waiting and ready.
