There are a ton of Fashion Week looks that catch your eye for all the wrong reasons, but among all the try-hards and the trend-obsessed looks, you can find some amazing, dare we say it, wearable yet interesting looks. One designer we can always count on to deliver beautiful garments (and some seriously gorgeous beauty looks) is Peter Som. So when we went backstage to his spring/summer '15 show, hopes were high. So we were actually surprised when we saw the pop art-inspired look Maybelline's global makeup artist Yadim Carranza created—it somehow exceeded our expectations. (Something that doesn't happen quite often, we might add.)
"We wanted to bring that pop art-y feel into the beauty, but we weren't quite sure how," said Carranza. "We didn't want to go too literal with it or do any image to Twiggy or anything." So after looking at conceptual pictures with Som himself, everything clicked. The end result is what Carranza likes to call "hyper-real beauty with an ode to pop art." Here's how to get the look:
Skin: Keep the skin dewy and fresh. Highlight the skin on the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, cupid's bow, chin, and the inner corners of the eyes with Maybelline's 24 Hour Color Tattoo in Barely Branded. Contour the cheeks using The Nudes Palette.
Eyes: Apply Maybelline's 24 Hour Color Tattoo Leather in Creamy Beige to the lids. Use a small eyeshadow brush to swipe on Maybelline's Color Sensational Vivids in Vibrant Mandarin 885 lipstick from the inner corner of the eye and fade out to the middle of the eye (don't make this look too perfect). Dab a little translucent powder on top of the color for staying power. Swipe Baby Lips across the lids for shine.
Brows: Groom using Maybelline's Brow Drama.
Lips: Dab a bit of concealer on the lips.
