’90s Revival: Weezer’s “Everything Will Be Alright in the End”
In honor of Weezer’s newest album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End, (which will be officially released on October 7th), we decided to take a trip down memory lane and chronicle 30 of the tracks from our favorite ‘90s nerd-rock band.
Don’t worry, though, the album is certainly not “The End” for Weezer yet, as frontman Rivers Cuomo told us in our September issue. But it is quite a trip down memory lane, seeing as the first single of the album was debuted on KROQ (which has been bringing us Weezer since 1994), it’s got the same producer as the original “Weezer” (AKA the blue album), and Cuomo used the same exact guitar to record it (are you getting chills yet?). But this album has been a serious labor of love—it was four years in the making—so that’s why we think it’s particularly worth celebrating.
Revisit our personal geek-rock favorites from the past 20 years of Weezer below and listen to the new awesome track the band released this morning, "Lonely."
