We've been tempted by violet lips ever since they first hit the runways at Armani, Kenzo, and Rodarte last season, but we've also assumed that this trick trend has always fallen into the "models or Lady Gaga only" category, along with other consistent beauty offenders like bleached brows or red eyeliner.

M.A.C. begs to differ. In fact, the makeup giant has just rolled out deep burgundy, plum, and lilac shades as part of its brand new Posh Paradise collection. The lipsticks are highly concentrated and go on matte, bold enough to make a statement without looking like you've been sucking on a grape lollipop all day.

And while the trend is definitely not for the shy, we've found that if you keep the rest of your makeup toned down (with the exception of a light blush) and wear it with confidence, they just might work.
