The Pride Parade brought all of our favorite things to NYC this weekend—tolerance, rainbow, glitter, and Orange Is The New Black. Our beloved incarcerated characters made it out of Litchfield for the day and obviously Instagrammed every step of the way. Check out Poussey, Tastyee, Morello, Officer Bennett, Daya, Boo, and Sophia spreading good vibes on the mean Manhattan streets. (Instagram)
There's been a lot of criticism about Lifetime's upcoming Aaliyah biopic—some centered on Zendaya Coleman's casting, a lot of backlash from Aaliyah's family, and some disapproval regarding the network itself. The film was scheduled to shoot this summer, but those plans are in limbo now that Zendaya has opted to drop out of the film. The 17-year-old actress hasn't given a direct answer as to her decision, but she did retweet an article that ascribed her exit to production issues like not being able to license the R&B singer's music. It seems like Nicki Minaj isn't so happy with Iggy Azalea. While accepting her BET Best Female Hip Hop Arist Award (for the fifth consecutive time, we might add), she made it a point to criticize those artists who don't write their own lyrics. It's safe to assume that Minaj was speaking about her fellow contender Azalea, who is rumored to have a ghostwriter. Whether or not the jab has any merit, it's pretty entertaining to see how Minaj throws shade. (Gawker)
Food trucks are apparently the newest marketing tool in film and television. We've seen OITNB's "Crazy Pyes" and Brooklyn Nine-Nine's doughnut truck hit the town giving away free food already. And now Warner Bros. is driving a Tammy pie truck around the streets of Toronto, L.A., and NYC, delivering some wholesome apple pies. Check out @wbpictures and #GimmeSomePies for food truck updates.
