We’ve had perpetual dreams of sunshine-filled days for quite some time now. Yet still, the daily temperature fluctuations have made it hard for us to settle into easy springtime dressing. But now that the weather is finally starting to stabilize, we’re ready for it—and we even have one of our favorite summertime collabs at the ready: Samantha Pleet x Urban Outfitters.
New York-based designer Samantha Pleet breeds a signature look: ethereal and feminine. Her second collaboration with Urban Outfitters produced a bevy of crop tops, dresses, and swimsuits.
The launch of Pleet & UO’s capsule collection is accompanied by a lookbook film, “Post Script,” that tells the story of two pen pals exchanging thoughts about their respective bicoastal lives. Hannah, trapped in the lull of a snowy East Coast, is receiving letters from an L.A.-based Ashley and vividly imagining herself basking in the California sun. As Ariana crafts a painting of the cross-country duo, she puts the whimsical patterns of Pleet’s designs onto paper and brings Hannah’s California dreams to life. The film mirrors our need for new spring threads and the collection eases the friction of our seasonally confused wardrobe.
