12-Year-Old Tries His Best To Woo Selena Gomez
are you google?
So, what happens when you're one of the most popular, multi-talented female stars in the world and you get hit on by a 12-year-old? If you're Selena Gomez, you take it with a whole lot more poise than most of us probably would. In a recent interview on BBC Radio 1, host Cel Spellman challenged his listeners to try to woo Gomez with only one line. The first came from a boy named Max, who asked "Are you Google? Because you've got everything I'm searching for." While this would be an awkward situation for anyone, Gomez laughs and takes it in stride, calling it "impressive" and said "That got my attention. The turning 18 part may need to be a crucial part of me pursuing."
Unfortunately for Selena, things got creepier. A caller name Scott tried his hand and asked, "Do you know what my shirt's made of? Boyfriend material." While Spellman though this was a bit more offputting than Selena did (it definitely sounds a bit "it puts the lotion on its skin" to us), she said that no matter what she tries to let people down gently, saying she'd let someone Scott know that "My best friend was waiting for me. That was so sweet! I'll be right back."
Speaking of people trying to woo Selena, it was a bit surprising that ex Justin Beiber didn't call and try out his best line. After all, he's been not-so-subtly lamenting their relationship lately, and calling into a British radio show with your best pickup line is about on par with posting an old photo of you kissing your ex on Instagram.
