eliza doolittle takes us on a whirlwind nhc shopping spree.

When we heard that Eliza Doolittle was going to be in New York yesterday, we freaked. Sure, the British singer is making serious waves in the U.S. for her doo wop-inspired perky pop hits, with recent shows at Coachella as well as last night's performance at The Mercury Lounge. But to be honest, we really wanted was to get the inside scoop on her killer style- and pick her brain to see what we need to buy for ourseves, right now. So we invited the 22-year-old to stop by nearby Opening Ceremony to play dress-up.

Here's what we learned from the whole experience:

- She had never been to the New York Opening Ceremony store before, just the Los Angeles one. But after yesterday's spree, she's obsessed with all the selection.

- She scoffs at heels. "I usually only wear high-top sneakers, to be honest," she said candidly in her Nike dunks. "I own almost 40 pairs right now!"

- Her favorite designers are Mark Fast, Guerlain Jeans ("the coolest!"). as well as discovering new stuff in-store, like Chloe Sevigny's collection for Opening Ceremony. "My mom has this dress!" she said when we first brought it out. "But now I want it too!"
