Sneaker Report Dec/Jan ’15

Rounding up three pairs you might want to get familiar with for the month.

ADIDAS ORIGINALS TUBULAR RUNNER Taking after its relative, the Y-3 Qasa, this new lifestyle runner by Adidas is an affordable alternative that’s equally up to par in comfort and fashion. Its neoprene-sock build feels great on the foot, but what stands out about this shoe is its unique outsole design, which features dual-density EVA, inspired by inner tire tubes.

Gourmet X Black Scale Quadici Lite Gourmet and Black Scale come together once again to produce a new editon of their coveted Quadici Lite, this time in a black-on-black colorway. This black leather “duck boot” is a winter staple thanks to its water-resistant rubber toe box and all-around toughness. Leave it to the masters of material on this one.

SALVATORE Ferragamo x Henrik Lundqvist Swedish ice hockey legend, and everyone’s favorite New York Ranger (or maybe just mine), Henrik Lundqvist is part of the new launch of Salvatore Ferragamo’s A Man’s Story. The collection celebrates the 100th anniversary of Ferragamo’s coming to America, and his path toward establishing the luxury fashion house. Lundqvist was selected for the campaign because of his impeccable off-the-ice style. His shoe is a high-top sneaker made with the smoothest denim that your feet will ever don. The tongue features a golden Ferragamo emblem. The collection will launch December 1, alongside other celebrity collaborators such as A$AP Rocky, Douglas Booth, and Ryan McGinley. By Kelly Shami.
