Poor Ashton Kutcher. There he was, thinking he gave the definitive portrayal of Steve Jobs, and along comes Michael Fassbender to tell him, nope. The first trailer for Steve Jobs, the upcoming biopic about the Apple co-founder, has just hit the web, and while it doesn't show much, it does give us a good look at Fassbender in Jobs' trademark black turtleneck.
The movie, directed by Slumdog Millioniare helmer Danny Boyle, shuffled through some lead actors before settling on Fassbender. At one point, Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio were both attached. Written by The Social Network scribe Aaron Sorkin, the movie reportedly follows Jobs through three of his famous keynote speeches. Seth Rogen shows up as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, and Kate Winselt makes an appearance as former marketing chief of Macintosh, Joanna Hoffman.
Steve Jobs, which is based on the biography by Walter Isaacson, hits theaters on October 9, just in time for awards season.
