Molly Guy, creative director of Stone Fox Bride, and Jodi Arnold, creative director of plus-size retailer Eloquii, have joined forces to create a line of plus-size wedding dresses to be sold exclusively at Stone Fox Bride. The five-gown collection perfectly encapsulates Guy’s laid-back, luxury-boho aesthetic with Eloquii’s structured tailoring for the full-figured bride, marking Eloquii’s first entry into bridal and Guy’s first plus-size line.
Guy had been wanting to bring plus-size selections into Stone Fox Bride for some time now, but it wasn’t until she was connected to the retailer that she felt she should pursue it. On the other end, Eloquii had also been pondering bridal—something that didn’t seem doable until Guy came into the picture.
The collab is pretty much a match made in heaven. At the launch event, Arnold told me, “It’s kind of funny because the top-searched term, every single week on our website, is ‘white dresses.’ We always thought, ‘What is this? Is she looking for something for a special occasion or bridal?’ It was really great when Molly approached us. We went ‘wow, amazing,’ because we were fans of her aesthetic and we think this is something that was missing in the bridal market.”
Each gown is actually a reworked piece from an original Stone Fox Bride design. The two worked together to reconstruct original lines, whether lowering the back or bringing up waistlines, in order to flatter a fuller figure.
You can purchase the collection online at StoneFoxBride.com, as well as in their SoHo showroom in New York City. In addition to the new collection, Guy also curated her top picks of occasion dresses (to take you entirely through wedding season, of course) on Eloquii, which you can view online here.
