We get it—stripes are nothing new. However, they were literally everywhere during the presentations of both resort and spring 2017 collections and a far cry from your average nautical vibes. From Proenza Schouler to Alice + Olivia, we saw colorful, glittering, and even optical illusion-esque lines ruling the runways.
Naturally now, we can’t get enough of the trend. We rounded up 15 striped pieces of every iteration that are truly statement-making. The hues are bold and contrasting, the angles are mismatched, and you’ll find them paired with everything from ruffles to fringe.
You’ll want to hold onto these for next season, too, as this over-the-top take on stripes is here to stay. We’ll be all about this until at least the end of summer—but we’ll report back to you after February’s fashion month to let you know whether this trend will live on.
