getting ready with taylor schilling
with exclusive tips and photos from her makeup artist.
Thanks to series trailers, posters, and a behind-the-scenes look that reconfirmed our love for Crazy Eyes, let's just say the countdown to the season two premiere of Orange Is the New Black is officially on. Last night the cast of the Netflix show celebrated the premiere in New York City, and even if you weren't there to catch it all go down in person, we've got the next best thing.
Makeup artist and NYLON fave Tina Turnbow (whose work you probably recognize from our pages) helped Taylor Schilling, AKA Piper, get ready for the main event. She filled us in on how exactly she achieved Schilling's "elegant, cool look" in the step-by-step guide below. Plus with exclusive snaps, it's almost as if we were all right there prepping with her...almost.
Turnbow's tips:
"I prepped Taylor's skin with one of The Method products she has been using, by dermatologist Dr. Lancer, Nourish by Lancer. I used Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation by Tarte, and the Fearless Cheek Stain on the apple of her cheeks. For extra glow I used Chantecaille's Liquid Lumiere in Luster, on tops of the cheekbone. I smudged Chanel Precision Eye Definer in Gris Scintillant along the upper lashline winging out a bit, and added definition with Lights, Camera, Lashes Precision Longwear Liquid liner by Tarte, close to the lashline. For lush lashes I used Tarte's Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart mascara, on the top lashes only for a wide eye effect. We settled on adding a pop of color to the lip, I went with Tarte's LipSurgence Matte Lip Tint in Lively, a hot pink, and LipSurgence in Charmed on top, for a touch of shimmer."
