Watch Maddie Ziegler Make Her Big Acting Debut
In ‘The Book Of Henry’ trailer
“Our legacy isn’t how many commas we have in our bank account, it’s who we’re lucky enough to have in our lives and what we can leave them with.” This is a heavy way to start what appears to be a fairly lighthearted movie, but Henry isn’t your average boy.
The Book of Henry tells the story of the boy genius, his little brother, his mom, the girl next door, and her evil stepfather. When Henry senses his next-door neighbor (played by Maddie Ziegler) is in trouble, he takes action. “When someone hurts someone else, we have to make it better,” he says in the trailer. “I hope to do it all myself, but that’s not an option.” So, he enlists his often self-doubting mother (Naomi Watts). That’s when this seemingly innocent kids movie about a child prodigy turns thriller.
“Part of what I hope will attract people to it is that it’s extremely unexpected and it takes you to places that you couldn’t really imagine the movie would ever go,” director Colin Trevorrow told People in an interview. “At a time when I feel like audiences have become so savvy in the way that stories go, I wanted to create a film that could be genuinely surprising and unpredictable.”
Don’t sleep on it, either. Judging from the trailer, it looks like it could become an underdog summer hit. It comes out in theaters June 16.
