The News: Cara Delevingne Calls Out Jourdan DunnIt Girl and model Cara Delevingne posted an Instagram of fellow model Jourdan Dunn sporting her “Cara made me do it.” T-shirt. It was the cutest call out ever, of course, with Cara commenting “Oh I did now did I?” @ her friend. Fingers crossed that Dunn comes up with an equally adorable retaliation. Stay tuned.
The Look: Twiggy in the Airport in 1967In a perfect world, taking inspiration from Twiggy would be my pick for The Look every single day of my life. This photo of the English model and ’60s mod icon couldn’t be more amazing. First of all, she’s sitting in an airport terminal wearing a fur coat. Plus, besides the fact that she’s rocking her signature hair and makeup, she’s also reading a guide book to Tokyo before flying out there.
The Face: Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial CleanserIf you’ve got super sensitive and acne-prone skin like mine, it’s pretty hard to test out new facial soaps. But then there’s that moment when your go-to scrub is almost gone and you get excited to try something new. Last time that happened to me, I cheated on my favorite wash and scooped up a bottle of Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser. While the concoction isn’t 100-percent all-natural, it does come with natural salicylic acid found in Willowbark bionutrients. I definitely need to pair it with a makeup remover when it comes to mascara and lipstick, but for cleaning my skin, I absolutely love it--including the fragrance that comes with.
The Inspiration: Cory Kennedy and Taylor Warren’s NYLON Photoshoot - October ’07One place you can always look for awesome inspiration is any of NYLON’s It Girl issues. Featuring your forever favorite actresses, and up-and-coming musicians, you really can’t go wrong. Looking back to our October 2007 issue, I can’t help but fall in love all over again with the spread featuring Cory Kennedy and Taylor Warren. The two make the perfect pair when it comes to playful photos that have a side of sass. Go find your copy in your own NYLON archives and be sure to re-read the story by Jenny Feldman and re-obsess over the photos by Matt Irwin--you won’t be let down.
The Song: “Double Vision” - Jacuzzi Boys
Miami’s garage rockers Jacuzzi Boys have that fuzzy, punk-infused summer sound that you just can’t help but kick off your Friday with. May I suggest “Double Vision” off of their 2013 self-titled album? This track is totally chill, has a rad beat, and comes with a music video starring chick misfits sporting floral bombers and hot pants. TGIF!
