The Look:

3.1 Phillip Lim Pre-Fall '14

I've come to the conclusion that I have three true loves in my life/closet: slouchy trousers, biker jackets, and easy, flattering T-shirts. All of them collided recently in Phillip Lim's pre-fall collection, which exploded like a shimmery rainbow of perfect outfits. If I could wear a variation of this all day, everyday, I'd be happy.

The Face

Japonesque Velvet Finishing Powder- $26

Gorgeous packaging aside, this product is seriously the best. It goes on sheer (not cakey), doesn't make me break out, and looks pretty sitting on my dresser. The end.

The News

:

Obama's State of the Union Address

Last night President Obama gave his State of the Union, where he proclaimed, "Let's make this year the year of action." But wait, what does that mean? For starters, making equal pay for women, raising the minimum wage, and setting stricter oil standards. Get the full lowdown, plus watch the speech, above.

The Inspiration

:

Red hair. Period.

I don't know why, but I'm obsessed with changing up my hair. Just ask anyone in my office (sorry, guys!). But until I decided whether or not to fully take the plunge head first to Karen Elson-dom, I'm just going to pore over the hairstyles backstage at Karen Walker's spring '14 show and try to recreate the braids in the meantime.

The Song:

"L

uv, Hold Me Down" by Drowners

The Drowners dudes released their new album yesterday, and don't worry--they've lived up to each and every bit of their

Band Crush status

in the self-titled LP. Although it's packed full of gems (and awesome one-liners, like "there's not a shoulder cold enough to give") this track is the one that's wearing out my iPod the most.
