How To Recreate Your Favorite ‘Twin Peaks’ Beauty Looks
For the Donna Hayward in all of us
Saturday marks the 27th anniversary of the first airing of Twin Peaks. With the reboot right around the corner, we can’t help but be extra-excited.
While it’s undeniably one of the greatest TV shows of all time (and has the cult following to prove it), Twin Peaks is more than just a surreal mind-game of a show; it also plays host to some killer (literally) beauty looks.
Even though the show first aired in 1991, these looks are still relevant today. (Hello, who doesn't love a good '90s look?) From Donna Hayward’s flawless curls to Shelly Johnson’s heavenly brows and brown lipstick, we rounded up what you need from spring’s offerings to become the Lynch-ian character you’ve always dreamed of being.

Donna HaywardDonna Hayward—the OG ugly crier—is a fashion icon in our book. But what we love even more than her insanely ‘90s (aka insanely perfect) sartorial picks are her beauty choices. Her skin is consistently flawless (despite her best friend being dead, no stress breakouts for her), whether she opts for a more natural look or glams it up. And her hair. It. Is. Everything.
Benefit, They’re Real! Double The Lip, $20, available at Birchbox; Tom Ford, Soleil Contouring Palette, $108, available at Sephora; IGK, Sold Out Curling Priming Basecoat, $27, available at Sephora.
Laura PalmerOkay, most of us don’t aspire to look like a dead girl unless it’s Halloween, but a subtle, sheer hint of Laura Palmer Blue can actually look quite nice. A blue-tinted highlighter and shimmery blue lip will add just that, and the right styling gel can help you pull off the ever-trendy “wet hair” look, though it will look more runway than “my body was just discovered down by the river.”
M.A.C., Lipstick in ‘Soft Hint,’ $17, available at M.A.C. Cosmetics; Urban Decay, Naked Skin Highlighting Fluid, $28, available at Sephora; KMS, Hairplay Styling Gel, $18.99, available at Ulta.
Audrey HorneAudrey Horne always looked flawless no matter what—hair perfectly coifed, berry lips intact—and we bet a strong hold hairspray and a liquid matte lipstick would be a part of her 2017 beauty arsenal. No eye mole? No problem. A dotted liner brush allows you to play around with your liquid liner and get creative
Tarte, Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint, $20, available at Tarte; Flirt, Dot Dot Dot Dual Eyeliner, $22, available at Flirt Cosmetics; Verb, Strong Hairspray, $14, available at Verb.
Shelly JohnsonShelly’s slightly scrunched hair and brown lipstick were totally on trend in the ‘90s (and still are today), but what we need to applaud her for are those brows. Remember—this was the ‘90s, a time when scary overplucked brows were the norm. Not for Shelly though. You can recreate her look with a sea salt spray, a warm brown nude lipstick, and an all-in-one brow kit.
Stellar, Infinite Lipstick in ‘Dark Matter,’ $22, available at Sephora; Urban Decay, Brow Box in ‘Brunette Beauty,’ $30, available at Urban Decay; Reverie, Mare Mediterranean Sea Mist, $34, available at Reverie.
Josie PackardJosie Packard is definitely one of the more mysterious ones of the Twin Peaks bunch, but we can’t deny that her look is strong as hell. That chic slicked back hair, that bright red lip—we’re sure the 2017 New York version of her would be a fashion editor seated front row during NYFW. A strong gel and a matte lip color are all you really need to recreate this look.
Natasha Denona, Lip Color Matte in ‘41M,’ $24, available at Natasha Denona; Nudestix, Magnetic Matte Eye Color in ‘Terra,’ $24, available at Nudestix; Bumble & bumble, Bb. Sumogel, $29, available at Bumble & bumble.
