When it comes to choosing a lipstick shade, long gone are the days of reds, pinks, and nudes as your only options. Remember when you used to have to depend on cheap (and usually pretty awful) costume makeup brands to achieve an unconventional lip color? Thankfully, more and more cosmetics lines are putting out colors that are out of the ordinary—even the luxury ones. From vampy blacks and navys to the wild brights (banana yellow, anyone?), these colors are making their way into beauty looks, and not just for Halloween anymore.
While you’ll certainly turn heads with a pastel green lip, we say go for it and let your freak flag fly. However, we recommend keeping the rest of your makeup look simple to avoid looking overdone and using a transparent lip pencil to keep colors intact. While these shades are not for the faintest of heart, they certainly make for a daring and fun look to incorporate come spring.
