Vera Wang Made A Case For A Multicolored Wedding Dress

And a beige ballgown

Vera Wang is not afraid to change things up. From putting out an all-pink bridal collection before colorful wedding dresses or millennial pink were a thing to mastering one witchy bridal collection after another, the designer continues to shake up the tradition-loving industry with styles that are the antithesis of a cookie-cutter bride.

For Spring 2019, the iconic wedding designer is going back to her colorful roots, by putting out a collection that dabbles with every color of the rainbow—sometimes on the same dress. There is a ballgown that marries an asymmetrical pink bodice with a nude tulle skirt and forest green corset belt, and a beige-and-pink dress made edgy by a sheer black layer of tulle that covers it. Wang's aptitude for color is especially apparent in her beige styles, which make up the majority of the 12-piece collection and somehow feel incredibly fresh in an industry known for appropriating every white and white-adjacent shade.

And while color is the undeniable focus of the line and the styles feel like quintessential Vera Wang, one would be remiss not to note the evolution of the brand's signature silhouettes. Wang juxtaposes the elements she has mastered over the years, like structured corset bodices and big, flowing tulle skirts, to bring about a union that feels never-done-before, like in a style boasting a stiff corset bodice over layers and layers of impossibly perfect and intentionally wrinkled tulle that gives way to an exquisite lace train underneath.
