illamasqua debuts a freaky new fragrance.

by liza darwin

Thanks to its theatrical collections of bold eyeshadows, deep lipsticks, and richly pigmented nail varnishes, Illamasqua has officially the concept of a beauty makeover to a dramatic new level.

So is it really any surprise that this self-proclaimed "makeup for your alter ego" has rolled out its latest offering just in time for the ultimate dress up day, Halloween?

The Brit brand's debut perfume, "Freak," is a potent blend of darkly exotic flowers like Black Davana, Poison Hemlock, and Queen of the Night blossom all swirled together in a sideways-slanted, art deco-inspired bottle (so it can double as room decor).

The witchy-looking potion has a stronger-than-usual scent, so be warned: a little bit goes a long way. If you're planning on channeling Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice or Edward Scissorhands this year, look no further than this perfume for perfect costume beauty inspiration.

But if not, that's okay, too. This heady fragrance is bound to make a statement long after Halloween is over.
