beauty queen: zoey deutch

how to look a little bit ’60s, a little bit rock’n’roll.

Some days we wake up in a very Brigitte Bardot beauty mood. Other times, it's more Lydia Lunch.

Zoey Deutch? She went with both. At this week's Vampire Academy premiere, the actress showed up in a look that was as much a Parisian throwback as it was a nod to our favorite onstage rebels. And that was totally the point; as her makeup artist Adam Breuchaud explained, "Inspiration-wise we wanted to mix a classic Brigitte Bardot '60s edge with a current rock edge."

If you're ready to try out both, too, here's how he did it:

SMOKE IT: Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadras Eyeshadow - $59

Breuchaud used the quad in Prelude to give Deutch a sculpted, ready-to-party-all-night smokey eye.

CHEEK IT: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Lighting - $45

Although technically a finishing powder, Breuchaud used this peach-beige hue as a blush on Deutch. It gives a subtle balance to the amped-up eye.

NUDE IT: Marc Jacobs Beauty Lovemarc Lip Gel in Strange Magic -  $30

For a '60s twist, us a nude (with a touch of pink) matte lipstick--this one from Marc Jacobs has the mod packaging to match.
