Beautycon, an annual gathering of beauty and fashion influencers held in select cities around the world, is the latest gathering to respond to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. After review of recommendations made by public health officials, the Los Angeles iteration of Beautycon 2020 has been postponed.

Originally scheduled for August, the convention has decided to move the event to December 5 and 6, citing ongoing concern surrounding COVID-19. "While we are optimistic that COVID-19 will be better understood by summer, many of our partners have been impacted by the delays and closures of their partners throughout Asia and other parts of the world, Beautycon's official Instagram account wrote.

The report notes that Beautycon New York is still planned for October 31 and November 1, while Beautycon Tokyo has been moved to a to-be-determined date in 2021. Tickets purchased for the August convention will still be honored for the rescheduled date, the Instagram post notes.

Last year's Beautycon LA featured appearances from Huda Kattan, Anastasia Soare, Ciara, Priyanka Chopra, Brettman Rock, Hayley Williams, and more. The event traditionally includes panels, meet and greet sessions, and beauty booths.

Beautycon isn't the only member of the beauty industry impacted by the coronavirus outbreak. Within the last week. Glossier has announced the temporary closure of its retail stores, Sephora has temporarily canceled all in-store beauty offerings, and Ulta has made it so that customers must ask associates for use of any tester products.
