BADVILLAIN Is Ready To Take The Music Scene By Storm With Their Special Single "HURRICANE"
The K-pop group’s powerful new single is set to storm the charts just a month after an impressive debut album.
Musical group BADVILLAIN made their confident debut in the music scene with their album OVERSTEP in early summer 2024. Just a month later, the group is ready to begin the next phase of their musical journey with their new special single, “HURRICANE.” Already shaking up the K-pop scene, “HURRICANE” is poised to hit the music charts with all the intensity and power of a category-five storm.
BADVILLAIN consists of Chloe, Kelly, Emma, Vin, YunSeo, Ina, and HU’E. Together, the seven of them form BADVILLAIN, an unstoppable music force whose prowess and power within the industry is expanding. While each of them specializes in their own unique area of expertise, from dancing to singing and beyond, they all serve to enhance one another and form a stronger collective as a team.
With “HURRICANE,” the group had their first official music video shoot as BADVILLAIN. Thus, it understandably came with a great deal of nerves and anxieties for many of the members, yet they found that being “together with the members and supporting each other made it a very enjoyable and happy experience.” The results speak for themselves, with the music video for “HURRICANE” already becoming a success.
BADVILLAIN says that the core ethos of their song “HURRICANE” is also something of a mantra for the group: “Our goal is always to be confident and aim for the top with powerful performances!” “HURRICANE” became known to fans through the release of the performance video on YouTube and quickly gained popularity with demands for its release. Highlighting the group’s powerful performances, the performance video served as a great introduction for new fans. Ina specializes in acrobatics, Chloe Young is a highly-trained dancer, and Vin, YunSeo, HU’E, and Kelly all have extensive backgrounds in dancing and singing. Each of the members has distinct strengths, and this “HURRICANE” performance captured them all in quick succession.
The “HURRICANE” performance video contrasts with the intense charisma shown in their debut album OVERSTEP with its blend of vibrant and contrasting colors, showcasing a calm force through the tone-on-tone harmony of cool gray-toned backgrounds and warm gray-toned outfits. In this way, “HURRICANE” shows a different side of the group and the kinds of material they’re interested in tackling beyond what they presented during their debut.
Hip-hop and Y2K fashion are at the center of public interest, especially among the younger generation, with retro hip-hop genres coming back into the music scene. As a girl group pursuing hip-hop, BADVILLAIN is poised to captivate American hip-hop listeners with their special single “HURRICANE.” Each of the seven members of BADVILLAIN presents captivating vocals, rap, and performances with different shades of color and feeling. The group is currently focused on doing the hip-hop genre justice but has plans to incorporate other sounds and genres in their future albums.
While there are no specific international tour plans yet, BADVILLAIN is ramping up to the 2024 Dream Concert In Japan, which will be the group’s first overseas booking and will showcase the group’s larger ambitions for a world tour in the near future. With their stormy growth this summer, BADVILLAIN looks to seize the spotlight in a whole new way.
