Erica Lindbeck: Behind The Voice, A New Perspective On The Actor

Known for her work in animation and video games, Erica Lindbeck reveals the humor and musical passion behind her familiar voices.

Written by Malana VanTyler

Erica Lindbeck’s voice may be more familiar to audiences than her face. A new photoshoot offers a glimpse of the actor beyond the recording booth.

For more than a decade, Lindbeck has worked across animation, anime, and video games. Her roles have ranged from cunning antiheroes and sharp-tongued outsiders to battle-tested fighters, introspective teens, formidable villains, and relentlessly upbeat icons. The variety reflects a range that can move from bright optimism to cool confidence and barely contained rage.

Voice actors can become inseparable from the characters audiences love while remaining largely unrecognized themselves. Lindbeck has never appeared interested in chasing conventional celebrity, either. Interviews and red-carpet appearances are rare. Her public presence has been defined by the work itself.

Finding Her Voice

Born in Boston and raised in Greenville, North Carolina, Lindbeck grew up as a self-described theater kid before moving to Los Angeles to study acting. A master class during her final year introduced her to voice acting as a career. After graduating in 2014, she signed with a talent agency and began building a varied résumé across animation, anime, and video games.

What connects Lindbeck’s wildly different characters is her ability to find something human within each of them. Sometimes, however, the distance between actor and character is smaller.

Lindbeck says, “I get to be my sarcastic self, and she feels so much like me.”

New Roles, New Notes

Her latest role puts her at the center of a new animated project. Lindbeck voices Kit Bodega, a catgirl helping video game villains prevent their worlds from collapsing. It is another opportunity for an actor deeply invested in writing and collaboration to build a character from the voice up.

Away from the booth, Lindbeck comes across as approachable and down-to-earth, with a particular enthusiasm for rock music. That passion also found its way into “Lilith (Upper Six Version),” a cover she recorded with a fellow voice actor. Fans will soon hear another side of her musical voice when a sharp-tongued, fiercely independent hellhound she voices sings in an upcoming season.

Beyond The Microphone

Despite the scale of her career, Lindbeck remains candid, self-aware, and refreshingly human. She does not turn every accomplishment into mythology or present herself as a perfectly assembled brand. Her humor is dry, her work ethic is exacting, and her commitment to the craft speaks louder than any pursuit of celebrity.

This photoshoot is not Lindbeck trading the microphone for the spotlight. It offers a glimpse of the person behind some familiar characters. For once, the voice, the face, and the striking vision all belong to Erica Lindbeck.
