Inside the Iconic Kangol AW26 Launch at an East Village Hotspot
Classic athletic references run through Kangol’s Apparel Collection 1.
Iconic headwear brand Kangol has long been rooted in creativity and self-expression. Their ethos is not just to be fearless, but to turn fear into a powerful, motivating force.
For Autumn/Winter 2026, Kangol’s newest presentation, Collection 1, makes its debut. Collection 1 arrived with a flourish on October 14, celebrated with a launch party at the newly resurrected Baohaus, Eddie Huang’s iconic early aughts restaurant. The restauranteur and longtime Kangol fan served an exclusive dinner to a group of lively and creative guests, and the vibes were sky-high. It was a night that celebrated Kangol’s cultural influence, its innovation, and the creativity that makes the AW26 Collection truly unique.

Collection 1 is evidence of Kangol’s evolution. Each piece draws on the brand’s sportswear archive and the everyday style of London, bringing familiar silhouettes into a contemporary closet. And it’s not theoretical: the campaign imagery was photographed around Brixton, in markets and corner shops, offering a documentary feel that reflects how the pieces are worn by real people, in real life.
Classic athletic references run through the men’s and women’s ranges. Look closely and you’ll see details like over-dyed finishes, which deliver true depth of color, and unique usages of a flocked archive logo throughout pieces like graphic tees, rugby shirts, track pieces, and core tees.
When you add a piece from Collection 1 to your wardrobe, you’ll get plenty of wear out of it; the brand says that these weren’t designed just to be worn as coordinated styles. They’re also intentionally made to integrate easily into your existing wardrobe. You’ll likely find that you reach for a piece like the Vintage Core Hoodie or the Parasite Reversible Jacket to complement your look with an eye-catching pop of color, or a design element that turns heads.
