Bridgerton Season 2 Soundtrack Brings Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, & More Into The Mix

Netflix's 'Bridgerton' returns for another frothy season — and its soundtrack features more of your favorite pop stars.

There’s so much to be agog at in Bridgerton, from dresses that resemble layer cakes to passionate sex-scenes so far from the realm of typical period pieces that you feel weird watching it with your roommates. Scoring all of this is pop music in the musical stylings of a string quartet, in the perfect combo of high and low-brow culture that makes the show so fun.

As the second season of Bridgerton draws closer to its March 25 release on Netflix, the show’s music supervisor Justin Kamps broke down the season’s official tracklist, in an article for Netflix’s Tudum.

In Season 1, we heard string quartet renditions of hits like Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy,” Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next,” Shawn Mendes’ “In My Blood,” and Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams.”

While Season 1 stayed more squarely in the land of contemporary pop hits, Season 2 is veering into classics. You can expect to hear renditions of “Stay Away,” by Nirvana (OMG!), “Material Girl,” by Madonna, Rihanna’s “Diamonds,” Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own,” Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know,” Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times,” and, of course, “Wrecking Ball,” by Miley Cyrus. Do we sense...trouble in paradise?!

Kamps also gave a sneak peek on what else we can expect to hear. “Of course, we’ve got Duomo coming back and Vitamin String Quartet coming back this season as well,” he said. “And this season, there are a few songs that are currently unreleased, and you’ll hear them in the show first.”

NYLON spoke to Vitamin String Orchestra following the whirlwind success of Brigderton’s first season. “We like to think we're building something that people can use to literally soundtrack their day,” explained Vitamin String Orchestra. “Whether you're looking for that intimate, romantic moment, like you get in Bridgerton, or you're looking to calm or focus or relax and elevate. Whatever it is, you can build it in our world.”

While the hype around the show’s highly-anticipated new season is real, Kamps already scheming for Season 3. If you, like us, were hoping for an Olivia Rodrigo cover, you might have to wait a little longer. “We did get some Olivia Rodrigo string covers this season, but just didn’t find the right place for them,” Kamps said. “So, that’s something I would like to include because I just think her songwriting is great and it makes for some beautiful string quartet versions.”

He also said he found some great covers of Doja Cat and Dua Lipa (“Levitating” and Bridgerton? The internet may explode!) but just couldn’t find the right place for them. There’s always next season!
