The video for her latest single, No Promises, features shots of the singer sporting what look like medium-length dreadlocks. Since its release, fans have called her out on donning a style of cultural, emotional, and historical significance to black people. Lovato counter-argued on

that her hair was actually "twists," not dreads, and that they looked "
