14 Unexpected ASOS Beauty Buys

The selection is surprisingly varied

by Taylor Bryant

Don’t look now, but ASOS is making a name for itself on the beauty front. Not only does the U.K.-based e-tailer stock big brands like Elemis, Korres, Eyeko, NYX, Rimmel London, TheBalm, but, on top of that, they have pretty impressive video beauty tutorials to go along with the selection. Bet you didn’t see this particular company gunning for that top Sephora spot, but seriously, don’t sleep on them.

We know how hard ASOS can be to comb through, so we did it for you and selected some of the best buys from the site. You probably already have at least one party dress in your cart, might as well add some of these products to tip it into free shipping territory.

NYX, Cosmic Metals Lip Cream, $11, available at ASOS.

It's the holidays! Meaning shine is in! Metallic lip cream is a great way to channel the trend, and this nude shade allows you to do so quietly.

Eyeko, Black Magic Mascara & Curler, $31, available at ASOS.

Alexa Chung swears by this brand for a reason. She's gone on record saying that she uses the liner to perfect her always-perfect cat eye, but we'd like to give a nod to the mascara and curler, also. Both are key to completing any look.

TheBalm, Balm Appetit, $46, available at ASOS.

Cute and wearable.

Japonesque, Kumadori Buffing Brush, $26, available at ASOS.

Inspired by Japanese makeup tools, Japonesque makes some of the most gorgeous sculptural brushes out. This particular one is ideal for use with liquid makeup and will make buffing on foundation pleasurable.

Oh K! Sweet Peach Detangle Brush, $14, available at ASOS.

This adorable brush not only works as a detangler but also smells like sweet peaches.

Yes To, Coconuts Ultra Moisture Conditioner, $9.50, available at ASOS.

Strands feeling a bit parched lately? Welcome to the club. Give your mane a hydrating boost with this natural conditioner infused with argan oil, aloe, and avocado.

Manic Panic, Classic Semi Permanent Hair Color Cream in Rockabilly Blue, $19.50, available at ASOS.

If you want colorful hair without the commitment, Manic Panic is your brand. This navy blue color is probably the tamest of the selection, but you can also pick from Candy Pink, Pillarbox Red, and Electric Amethyst.

Pixi, Glow Tonic, $28, available at ASOS.

I recently ran out of this product and, I kid you not, was genuinely sad about it for at least a week. It has a cult following for a reason: it's damn good. It's part toner, part exfoliant and with the help of glycolic acid and aloe vera, it refreshes skin without stripping it of necessary oils.

Oh K!, Exfoliating Peeling Foot Gel Mask, $11, available at ASOS.

Just because your feet are trapped in boots all season, doesn't give you the right to neglect them. A foot mask is, yes, a thing, and an easy way to make sure your feet don't go to complete shit this winter.

Egyptian Magic, All Purpose Skin Cream, $38, available at ASOS.

You'll never need or, better yet, want to use another moisturizer after trying out the beloved Egyptian Magic. The thick balm formula might intimidate some, but true dry skin people know that's the first sign that it works.

Korres, Wild Rose Overnight Sleeping Facial, $40, available at ASOS.

Overnight masks are basically glorified night creams (at least to me), but they're essential in the colder months. Your skin needs all of the moisture it can get, and this particular product provides that with hyaluronic acid and, with the addition of vitamin C, also helps to brighten the visage.

Illamasqua, Powder Blusher in Morale, $34, available at ASOS.

Who says blush can only be light pink? Not us.

3ina, Color Kajal in Blue, $14, available at ASOS.

An eyeliner so easy to use, even the most amateur of cat-eye wearers could do it.

Kocostar, Tomato Slice Mask Sheet, $6.50, available at ASOS.

All-over sheet masks are so last year. This version comes in individualized slices, so you can pin point what part of your face needs some extra attention.
