autograf is making art pop

with underground dream-like vibes

by nylon

It's no easy feat making electronic dance music feel and sound like a complete and total breath of fresh air, but Chicago's own Autograf has done just that. Blame it on the unlikely pairing of two art students with a derivatives trader, but together, Mikul Wing, Louis Kha, and Jake Carpenter pull influence from disco, tropic house, and new wave to get the people's feet moving. It's light, blissful dance music banking on good vibes. And it all harps back the group's manifesto: "Leave your autograf." The one it's leaving right now—a mix of art, pop sensibilities, and the right amount of underground influence—is a special one. Watch, er, keep an ear on this space. It's a waking dream.
