Craft Spells may be pop, but this Stockton, California-based band definitely doesn't have the same perfectly polished sound as some of their musical counterparts.
Instead of pretty, shiny beats, the group toggles between hazy synths, shadowy vocals, and '80s-inspired melodies that seem straight out of The Breakfast Club. But trust us, if gloomy singles like "After the Moment" are any indication, this band is way more likely to be blasting from rebel Judd Nelson's boombox than prissy Claire Standish's.
Despite all this darkness, Craft Spells still manages to wrap these components up in a surprisingly upbeat package, making us wonder if their broodiness is all an act. Not that we really care about the reason. We just never want them to stop.
