The Actor Who Played Barney Now Runs A Tantric Sex Business

Nothing to see here

What's the next logical career move for a guy who portrayed America's most beloved cartoon dinosaur in the '90s? Why, launching your own tantric sex business, of course. At least that's what David Joyner, who played Barney on the PBS kids show Barney & Friends, decided to do.

In 2004, three years after he hung up his dino costume, Joyner started a tantric massage business, according to a report from Vice. He charges clients $350 for a 3-to-4-hour session that includes a ritual bath, chakra balancing, and, yes, an orgasm via massage. Joyner has about 30 clients, whom he refers to as "goddesses," and continues to recruit clientele through word of mouth and Tinder.

When speaking to Vice, Joyner made a disturbing comparison to tantric sex and performing as Barney. For everyone's sake, he really shouldn't have.

“The energy I brought up [while] in the costume is based on the foundation of tantra, which is love," he said. "Everything stems, grows, and evolves from love. Even when you have emotionally blocked energy, the best way to remove it is to remove it with love, and then replace it with God’s divine love. Love heals and allows you to continue to grow.”

I don't even want to know what Baby Bop is getting into these days.
