Watch The Stunning Trailer For ‘Blade Runner 2049’

Harrison Ford is back

Let the movie follow-ups nobody asked for but everyone’s making anyway continue! Next up: a sequel to Ridley Scott’s classic Blade Runner.

Development of a sequel first started in 1999 but never came to full fruition, so it’s safe to say this has been a long time coming. Now, 16 years later, the world is finally getting a glimpse of Blade Runner 2049, directed by Denis Villeneuve.

Even if the idea of seeing a part II to a movie that came out 34 years ago doesn’t appeal to you, the star-studded cast might. Ryan Gosling will be heading the film, with Jared Leto and Robin Wright both making appearances. Fans of the original movie will also be happy to hear that Harrison Ford is making a comeback as Rick Deckard.

According to Alcon Entertainment, the film will take place 30 years after the original film and follow LAPD officer and new blade runner Gosling as he “unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos.” He then journeys off on a quest to find the OG blade runner, played by Ford. Though, from the looks of the trailer, Ford doesn’t look too happy about being found. “I had your job once, I was good at it,” he says to Gosling, while unsteadily holding a gun.

Watch the trailer, shrouded in mystery, above. The film is set to hit theaters October 6 of next year.
