BOOK CLUB: MARILYN
before there was marilyn, there was norma jeane
by ali hoffman
Back in 2002, TASCHEN came out with a lust-worthy photography book on Marilyn Monroe. The downside: Even if you managed to get a hold of the limited-edition box set, the price tag probably scared you away.
Now, years later, the famed art book publisher is re-releasing Andre de Dienes' book of wistful photographs of the girl he once met named Norma Jeane.
Including journal-like memoirs by the fashion photographer, contact sheets, and a vast amount of style-inspiring shots, the reduced, two-book edition is bound for stardom… on your coffee table, that is.
