Britney Spears Leaves Little To The Imagination In New Song “Private Show”

See the “Private Show”

On Wednesday, Britney Spears gave Jimmy Kimmel his own private show, and now, it's our turn. The singer released the second track from her upcoming album, Glory, and it's Spears at her wackiest. We mean that in the best way possible.

"Private Show" was gifted to those devoted Britney stans who pre-ordered a copy of her hotly anticipated ninth studio album, which has already rocketed up in the charts, leaving little doubt that Britney is officially back.

As for the song itself, well, let's just say it's vintage Spears. One of the hallmarks of her career has been her ability to shape-shift; moving from G-rated Disney princess to post-apocalyptic space queen, the pop star has never been glued to one particular sound or style. "Private Show," which first debuted in her perfume ad, is a winning proposition, with flashes of doo-wop and whiskey-drenched Southern sleaze.

“Put on a private show, pull the curtains until they close, I put on a private show, we’ll be whiling all on the low,” Spears coos over a thumping beat. "Work it, work it, boy watch me work it, slide down my pole, watch me spin it and twerk it,” Spears continues, leaving little to the imagination.

Britney is at her best when she makes bold creative choices and embraces the absurdity of pop stardom. "Private Show" is Britney at her best. Glory drops August 26, but you can listen to snippets of her latest hit above.
